Commercial Property Insurance

Commercial property insurance is a first-party coverage designed to provide insurance on existing buildings and their contents. Contractors purchase this type of policy to respond to loss or damage in connection with its own facilities, as opposed to builder risk insurance, which covers property under construction. Commercial property policies provide very little coverage on property that is in transit or at locations other than those that are listed on the policy. For these exposures, Commercial Inland Marine coverage is needed.

Commercial General Liability Insurance

General Liability policies provide broad protection against legal liability arising out of tortuous conduct. Most general liability policies are broken down into separate sections based on the type of covered damages. One such coverage applies to bodily injury and property damage arising from the premises and operations of the insured. The second coverage is for products or completed operations. Finally, the third coverage is contractual liability - liability assumed under a contract.

Workers Compensation Insurance

Employers have a legal responsibility to their employees to make the workplace safe. However, accidents happen even when every reasonable safety measure has been taken.

To protect employers from lawsuits resulting from workplace accidents and to provide medical care and compensation for lost income to employees hurt in workplace accidents, in almost every state, businesses are required to buy workers compensation insurance. Workers compensation insurance covers workers injured on the job, whether they're hurt on the workplace premises or elsewhere, or in auto accidents while on business. It also covers work-related illnesses.
